There is a symmetry to semi-arid places. It is beautiful and restful and I have really enjoyed both. It was good to be amongst you again.

Meals tasted more delicious. Colours were enhanced. Dreams more technicolor and vivid. Conversations deeper. This place invited all of that. Sunrise on Slangkop / Suurberg is etched into my memory as a diamond. Nothing beats that. Wonderful time. So grateful! The walk up to Waterfall lodge and then to the actual waterfall was the highlight of our stay. Colours changed as the sun moved across the huge, clear, blue, blue sky – mesmeric and poetic.

Lovely time of pure relaxation and enjoying time out from the busy city life. Beautiful surroundings, just loved listening to the birds all day!

After a warm welcome from Johan we spent the next 3 days listening to the birds, bees, breeze, frogs, bokke, beetles and baboons. A joy being so close to nature again. Tx 🙂

A much needed weekend break. Tygerhoek did not dissapoint. No cellphone, no TV, no cars; just stillness and peace. And hey folks we saw an aardvark near the lodge just after sunset! Be jealous.

What a fantastic spot – silence, koppies, springbok and amazing plants growing in the orange soil; stars and the Milky Way like we haven’t seen in years! Thank you.
